I have been yearning to catch Requiem For A Dream ever since I saw director Darren Aronofsky’s other cinematic masterpiece, The Fountain (read my review of that epic here). I was hugely impressed with The Fountain and sought to watch Aronofsky’s previous films, expecting them to be of a similarly high standard. Unbelievably, Requiem for A Dream exceeded even these lofty expectations and left me emotionally gripped upon its conclusion.

Homosexuality has been the hot topic of discussion among Singaporeans for the past year. In particular, the debate has centered around Section 377A of the Singapore Penal Code, which forbids men from having sex with one another in public or private.
Section 377A of the Singapore Penal Code
Any male person who, in public or private, commits, or abets the commission of, or procures or attempts to procure the commission by any male person of, any act of gross indecency with another male person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 2 years.
